WE WANT YOU TO JOIN IN THE SUCCESS OF THIS AMAZING BODYWORK THAT REALLY WORKS!

Jill is a Thai Bodywork Certified Instructor with Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage (in Evanston, IL). She is currently offering 4 courses in St. Louis included in the 220-hour Thai Bodywork Practitioner Program (TBP). All bodywork courses are in-depth, highly informational and hands on and are critical for the rest of the Thai Bodywork Practitioner (TBP) and more clinical Coaching the Body Practitioner Certification (CTBP).

TBP is our basic professional level Thai bodywork certification that can be earned by fulfilling a set of requirements consisting of coursework, testing, documented practice and private work with instructors. TBP certification establishes that the student has achieved a professional standard of practice.

The TBP program ensures that practitioners are adequately trained in a thorough repertoire of techniques, understand basic anatomy and trigger point therapy, and have the skills they need to be successful. TBP Certification serves as the foundational program and prepares students for our advanced classes included in the Coaching the Body Practitioner Certification (CTBP). CTBP classes may also be taken by students who have not yet finished TBP Certification.

Students are able to take courses at their own pace. Read more about the full Thai Bodywork Practitioner (TBP) and Coaching the Body (CTBP) programs offered at Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage (located in Evanston, IL).

About this Course:
An in-depth introduction to Thai Massage, this intensive 2.5 day training is suitable for new students, massage therapists, body-workers, trainers, physical therapists, yoga teachers and those seeking an effective modality that is as good for their body as their clients. At the end of the course, the student will be able to give a complete 1 hour Thai massage, including supine, side lying, prone and seated positions. The techniques taught are not “beginner”, but instead foundational, meaning the therapist will continue to build on them in subsequent courses and are powerful and sophisticated.

In this course, we introduce the theory of energetic and functional anatomy and physiology, sen sip (Thai energy lines), wind gates, Thai asanas or therapeutic postures, acupressure points and myofascial trigger points. We teach basic principles of western muscular anatomy, trigger point therapy and patterns of referred pain to provide the student with a much deeper diagnostic framework for client issues. In Level 1, the student learns the basic ideas behind Clinical Thai Bodywork, a powerful therapeutic system that is explored more fully in advanced courses.

We place a strong emphasis upon body mechanics and practicing bodywork in a sustainable way. Many western style or table massage practitioners experience symptoms of occupational disability in hands, shoulders and arms due to reliance upon muscular strength of the arms and hands and a failure to understand the power of working from our center. We use our hands, feet, knees, elbows, forearms and whole body along with martial arts and yoga principles to teach the student how to move in an efficient, elegant and powerful way. With strong fundamentals, Thai bodywork can be not only safe but beneficial for the practitioner, and will provide a deeply satisfying career that lasts many decades.

You will be amazed at what you learn in a weekend as we teach you the critical fundamentals of body mechanics, positioning, compression, stretches, energetic, spiritual and historical background, an intro to concepts of clinical work, and much more.

You will learn a valuable 1-hour professional sequence that you can immediately put to use with clients, friends and family. The focus of this training is to instill principles of full-body movement through carefully refined teaching methods that have helped thousands of students learn this fantastic art. Even students who have studied at other schools give us rave reviews about this training and our teaching methods.

BEING A GREAT THERAPIST DOESN’T HAVE TO BE HARD ON YOUR BODY!

Our unique HandsFree style classes integrate principles from martial arts, bodywork and yoga. Massage therapists – save your hands, establish a sustainable practice for years to come.

About this Course:
This weekend course provides an introduction to the techniques of HandsFree Thai, which allow the practitioner to work on clients in a way that is highly beneficial for the receiver and safe for the practitioner. Many asana variations using feet and knees, comprising a 2-hour treatment. Prerequisite: Level 1 or equivalent.

Learn to work on large or heavily muscled clients OR ANYONE in a way that is highly effective for you the practitioner as well as for the client. Asana variations using feet, legs and knees allow the therapist to provide broad, deep pressure without endangering the hands, wrists or shoulders. It’s AMAZING work and clients rave about the effectiveness and change in their bodies.

In this class, we learn a 2-hour treatment sequence that employs all treatment positions (supine, side lying, prone and seated). This is an excellent way for the practitioner to safely work with athletes and other clients who require deeper pressure without putting stress on themselves. You can literally do this work all day long and feel relaxed and fulfilled because of the results!

As in all of our courses, we maintain a strong therapeutic focus in our teaching, guiding the student in how to work with specific issues of pain or dysfunction. We employ the principles of Clinical Thai Bodywork to teach the student patterns of pain and its origins while using HandsFree techniques.

Thai massage has a long tradition of walking techniques, as do many other cultures. These techniques can be practiced without elaborate equipment such as ropes, bars or specially made treatment rooms. If the practitioner is developing balance, a simple object like a chair is sufficient to help maintain safe balance while on the client. We teach the student to be able to do this work with as little mechanical assistance as possible. This work will change the way you work forever!

Course Description
This course establishes the core therapeutic sequence for treating upper body symptoms using the Clinical Thai Bodywork method. This sequence in turn forms the basis for the CTB body area protocols dealing with the upper body.

Therapeutic Upper Body covers foundational therapeutic techniques and analysis in the abdomen, thorax, shoulders, arms, neck and head. Our core protocol visits each of the important upper body areas and provides the student with a framework for assessing the influence of common postural misalignments and perpetuating factors.

Therapeutic Upper Body is strongly recommended as preparation for the CTB classes dealing with upper body symptoms. It is also strongly recommended to take Therapeutic Lower Body prior to Upper Body.
